Regarding current pandemic directives and public Masses in our parish:
Considering the configuration of our church, we cannot realistically conform exactly to some of the guidelines.
Our capacity for Mass will be cut by approximately 50% by only allowing seating in every other pew.
It is encouraged that you wear a mask, and you are free to wear gloves. (Note: our entrances post written directive to wear mask)
Holy Communion will only be available under the one form of bread.
The Holy Eucharist cannot be placed into a GLOVED hand.
If you are wearing gloves, one of your gloves must be removed at the time you approach to receive Holy Eucharist.
Neither I nor anyone will be measuring distances between people sitting in the pew.
IF YOU ARE NOT HEALTHY YOURSELF OR
IF YOU ARE OF A VULNERABLE AGE OR HEALTH CATEGORY OR
IF YOU ARE CARING FOR SOMEONE AGED OR ILL AT HOME OR
IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE BEING AROUND OTHERS AT THIS TIME OR
IF YOU CANNOT BE FLEXIBLE WITH OUR SPACING OR MASKING,
PLEASE STAY HOME AT THIS TIME OR UNTIL YOU ARE COMFORTABLE.
Our parish staff will have met to discuss the resumption of our normal parish life, programs, sacramental liturgies and procedures and will continue to review our plans and make adjustments as necessary.
THANKS, again, to our parish members and friends who have been able to continue the financial support of our parish through these difficult times. You’ve helped to keep our “ship” afloat!
Remember that Jesus encouraged His followers at the table of the Last Supper:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled;”
so, too, Our risen Saviour continues to encourage us with His same words.
May we begin to return to our lives with faith, hope, caution and common sense and overcome fear and anxiety.
